Second Ave. Dukes, pt. 2. Down to And. D., Jon. M., Brad. W. and me, when N’son ש.‏ and M’tch J. returned from having got food elsewhere. J. very animatedly told us in great detail ab. his bad day at work. When very nearly closing time, M., J. and I (the only remaining) left to stand near 86th St. sta. and continue talking when a worker closed the station on us, so we walked to Lexington Ave.

E. 86th St. Talking ab. people we knew, stopping at the station entrance to chat further. M. gave a dollar to a homeless man who had no more use for us once the monetary transaction was complete, so he spun on his heels and rudely walked away with neither a goodby nor a statement of thankfulness. M. said J. was akin to a bully in his treatment of young שמואל, but I doubt ש.‏ is so fragile.

Instead of riding with me all the way to JH as he usually does, J. rode to a transfer point where we separated so he could catch the LIRR.

Prayer sign and road work at 37th Rd. and B’way (1436–38).

37th Ave. Bought three pairs of reading glasses from CSVM because my last pair had broken the day after I had shopped at 💲🌳 but had neglected to buy them. Liverwurst and Turkey pastrami from the deli counter, a garden salad, packaged salami and Swiss and Gouda cheeses, and roasted peanuts from FD, earlier than I usually go thereto. I was repeatedly going back and forth to compare prices at the deli counter to the packaged counterparts, and the deli worker was friendly, patient and helpful. He asked me if he were my “favorite deli guy,” and I had to admit that he was better than the often dour, distracted S’eed, despite my attraction to the latter, and there were even other cute workers present with whom to flirt. Cashier منارة‎‎ asked me “How was your عيد yesterday?”

Waves and kisses from blue‐hair Cor. across 72nd St.

Basement and elevator with Dian., forgetting that I’d probably met her at a shareholder meeting.
