Northern Blvd. (2923–31). Amazing (tremendous) Thanksgiving meal in JI. {Roast Turkey Thanksgiving dinner!} Although the Turkey/stuffing ratio was slanted a little too much to the stuffing side, I loved the meal: butternut‐squash soup, roast Turkey with gravy, cranberry sauce with whole cranberries therein, stuffing that had raisins and some other fruit (pear?) in it, mixed vegetables that I believe were roasted in garlic, a sweet potato, and coconut‐custard pie. I was startled by how much food was on the plate and wound up taking what seemed like nearly half of it home, including the entire dessert. I took a few photos but occupied my time writing in the canary pad. It appeared as if there was an entire Turkey used as a Thanksgiving decoration on the counter near the cash register, because it didn’t look fake. I noticed that the waiters were all fat and the bus boys all very skinny. There was a bus boy I’m pretty sure I’ve seen before, possibly the one from Nepal, and another who reminded me more of Kl’d from DR than even the KLD worker who reminded me of him, and I began to speculate whether he works in both places. There was a hefty Latin customer in the next booth who ordered the same meal as I did, and an old E. Asian lady looked at our food on her way out and said “Wow, nice Turkey!” There were some fairly attractive customers but the food dominated my attention. Though it would have been nice to be with a group of friends as in years past, the JI food is better and I get to take home leftovers (and the waiter even refilled my leftover cranberry‐sauce cup).
