37th Ave. (6547–53). Turkey/bacon/avocado wrap from the hanging menu approximated as an expensive בײגל sandwich from KLD. Bearded E. Asian cashier gave me no receipt, but we chatted about the history of the shop after I broke the ice by deciding to tell him that Swarm declared me mayor but he thought I’d said I was a bear. Brief visit to FD where the usually stone‐faced manager uncharacteristically playfully rolled a trolley at me on the one day I didn’t need one. Left to compare prices at F’town which was crowded with Thanksgiving‐eve customers. (The person in the crosswalk ahead of me held out her hand dramatically to a car turning onto the avenue when the driver was in fact waiting calmly and patiently, so I did the same thing to him when I crossed, but with a smile.) Took bad photos of cute deli worker (6547–53) (with the R’bar one also there) but bought nothing. I greeted two cute young fags there who paid me no mind whatsoever. Returned to FD for strawberries, blackberries, sour cream, a small apple pie and a full‐size pumpkin pie and wound up behind a slow, doddering old man on the cashier line. Then the cashier asked if I were a senior. Awkward attempts on both my and cashier’s part to make efficient use of coins when I purchased discount dark‐chocolate blueberries from DR.

“The preeminence of ‘Innocent until proven guilty’ is being jettisoned. Now, mere accusation alone is enough to ruin someone’s career. … [T]o the baying mob, allegations are all that’s required to pass judgement. … [T]rial by social‐media mob outrage isn’t justice, and it sets a horrific precedent.”
