Fifth day of חנכה.

No EHSQ due to a tragedy in Tom’s family, which means I did no socializing on my birthday weekend. (See SMS messages.)

37th Ave. (6601–02). Visited DR to get discount frozen hamburgers which weren’t there, but there was E’vine looking very handsome stocking shelves right near the freezers. I greeted him with “Hello, Handsome,” and he seemed a little uncharacteristically guarded rather than jolly but still interacted with me. Discount butter and Samoan frozen dairy dessert from F’town. More photos (6601–02) of J’tin though I wasn’t on his line because a disproportionately large number of customers seemed to want him as cashier.

Beginning of sixth day of חנכה.

Two huge raccoons, one of which crossed my path, on 72nd St., which made me wish I’d had one of my cameras at the ready.

37th Ave. Still no ’burgers at DR. Saw রুবেল for a quick second.

Construction site viewed from B’way and 72nd St. (3078–79).

Roosevelt Ave. (3080–83). Wonton/egg‐drop soup and a pork/vegetable combination plate from E21 (21:11) where I discovered my smartphone had run out of power. Construction site (3080–83).
