Frosted mini doughnuts and a cosmic brownie from शाह/شاه Deli, 37th Ave., on my very first visit thereto, chatting with the man behind the counter whom I would have found attractive had this been the Bronx ten years ago. The deli counter was closed for the night but he seemed reluctant to tell me at what time that normally happens because there were plans to have it staffed all night sometime in the near future.

37th Ave. (3098–99). Ran out to see if the frozen discount WC hamburgers were in stock at DR, and they were, and so I bought two packages of them along with discount chocolate‐frosted mini doughnuts as if it were still חנכה or even my birthday. I enjoyed those hamburgers from the microwave oven at least as much as I do the ones from the griddle that I buy at WC rather than at DR.

Bird on 72nd St. (3100).

I ran into no one I knew and was glad of it.
