Big loud Mike was outside the building talking to one of his employees, possibly Al’to, about things that were falling off or coming away from where they were supposed to be, and then the big ladder was placed against the fire escape and the worker was, for a short time, right outside my bedroom window, so I decided it was a day to get outside in the summery weather for an extended period.

Big orange spools of orange cables on 72nd St. (2510–12).

Major roadwork on 35th Ave., including men directing traffic, near and under the BQE (2513–2529).

B’way (2530–45). Window worker at Korean Presb. church (2530–36). Man standing atop petroleum truck (2538–45).

Northern Blvd. (2546–52). Trash bins outside Sports Authority (2546). Skateboarder (2547). Roadwork (2548–52). My camera ran out of power after I’d neglected to bring a spare charged cell, so then it seemed I saw a number of men I wished I could document.

Redeemed bottles and cans at SS, 48th St. Rushed jack‐o’‐lantern icing decorations on leftover Halloween cakes, not photographed due to stern=looking security officer.

Northern Blvd. (6457–63). Sushi X sells all‐I‐can‐eat sushi (6457–58). Nothing but body wash and dish liquid, neither of which I really yet needed to buy, and plenty of pork rinds from 💲🌳. Friendly, smiling cashier with a Halloween brooch (a spider?) and an Arabic title for a name (سيدة) said nothing about all the pork I was purchasing. More of the roadwork (6459–63).

With workers visible in every window, the Korean Presb. church, B’way, reminded me of an Amsterdam whorehouse (6464–69).

More of the 35th Ave. roadwork (6470–73).

37th Ave. (6474–80). Rôtisserie chicken, pre‐cut cheese, packaged Münster cheese, spiral‐cut zucchini “noodles,” blackberries and discount sour cream from F’town in a scramble before beginning another 3½‐day (or so) fast before going to Fla. Monday. Saw handsome produce worker (6474–80) sneak up behind and mildly startle coworker. As I passed KLD, out came the totes gorge worker from two years ago looking totes gorge in his jeans and sweater and scarf, and he followed me about half a block. Does he work there again?
