Lobby renovation (2870–71).
Made sure to get to OJL, W. 67th St., on time for a LB meeting that did not take place. I stood out in the cold waiting for anyone else to arrive but no one did. The cute Afro‐Dominican waiter came out to tell something to the deliveryman and then stayed out to chat with me for too long considering he wasn’t wearing a jacket or coat, inviting me to wait inside but I declined. He speaks English quite well, albeit with a strong accent, and probably wanted to practice conversation, but I felt better interpreting it as flirtation. Boarded the F home at W. 57th St. sta. rather than the closest station so as to take a bit of a walk, but did nothing but visit DR, B’way, to find the prices much too high for the same items I buy cheaper in Queens (but I remember there was a cute guy in a יאַרמלקע there).
37th Ave. Got two sandwiches, a chicken cordon bleu hero and a blackened‐Turkey sandwich on a בײגל, from KLD. The cashier was a cute if chunky young E. Asian man who reminded me of someone who worked there a number of years ago. He was particularly pleased that I declined a plastic bag in favor of the cloth one I’d brought, and a cute slender smiley worker was even more enthralled with that fact and got involved in the conversation, saying he wished more customers did what I do. (I felt very appreciated.) His being young, slender and cute with a nice smile led me to compare him to DR worker Kl’d, like he’s the Kl’d of KLD. Worker Lu. L. was also there, apparently on his way out as he was on the same side of the counter as I was. Spiral‐cut zucchini and beet “noodles,” pre‐cut cheese and an apple pie from F’town (20:29).
