22 September 2017, Friday

Second day of ראש השנה until sundown and thus an excuse for sweets.

Discount apple‐pie, peanut‐butter and cashew‐cookie energy bars (the first two whereof being two of the three I had purchased three days earlier), mixed nuts and two novelty ice creams from DR, 37th Ave. Difficult to greet إشتياق because we weren’t looking at or were near one another at the right moments. Customer, probably the same from last year, asked me “Are you مسلم?” and seemed none too bright but did compliment my hat. Cashier 666 (02:46).

37th Ave. (1701–02). A preoccupied C’los C. didn’t greet me despite my smiling at and talking to him as we passed one another.

82nd St. (1703–08). Construction work while bossy little girl repeatedly screamed because her mother wouldn’t giver her something (1703). Future Target site (1704–08).

EHC to change appointment. Cute but blurry young man (1709–11).

82nd St. (1712–22). Sagging “Sale” sign (1717–18).

37th Ave. (1723–35). Guitarist playing Pachelbel’s Canon (1725). Tying someone else’s shoe (1730). Attractive man shouting from a van (1733–35).

Greeted purple‐hair Cor. on 72nd St.

Equinox at 16:02.

Not wanting to encounter workers who’d recognize me if I went to DR, I walked to Walgreens, Northern Blvd., to buy three more energy bars (apple pie, peanut butter and chocolate chip/peanut butter), chocolate‐chunk cookies and Milanese cookies (22:26) when it was no holiday other than ימי תשובה‎‎.
