25 August 2018, Saturday

Because I thought it would be faster than waiting for a local train to take me just one stop further, I walked to the barbecue site from 71st Ave. sta. rather than from 67th Ave. sta., and it was a nice scenic walk whereon I encountered numerous more‐or‐less religious יהודים on שבת, some being attractive men. My route was Queens Blvd. to 67th Ave. to 110th St. to 64th Rd. to Grand Central Pkwy. to the footbridge to Meadow Lake Trl.

The barbecue/picnic (5122–42) was largely people from HAIDSF and LPC, and K’nt T. was notably absent. I spent much of my time talking to J’seph B. (See private messages with him on Facebook.) I brought the Turkey Franks I’d bought the night before, but the organizers had brought much more than enough food, including much better Franks than mine. (See handwritten notes in black Knight Fat Little Wireless.)

J. thought it would be a shorter walk to the subway station using the footbridge (5143–47) further north at the LI Expwy.

Football players at PS 220, 62nd Ave. (5148–49). A Ukrainian Jewish woman, momentarily visible in the video, stopped to talk with us for a bit, and we also met some Uzbekistani boys, some Özbək and at least one Jewish.

J. and I walked along H. Harding Expwy. (5150–51) talking about international travel, and we passed his building and continued to Junction Blvd. where we separated so he could go shopping. Since I knew Junction would lead me to JH, I decided to walk home therefrom rather than board the subway. I walked to Corona Ave. and then to B’way (although it would have made more sense to walk Queens Blvd. to B’way).
