Kevin Brown had three wins under National Hunt rules during the 1990s. A conditional jockey with former leading amateur rider Jim Wilson, he had his first victory at Warwick on January 9, 1992, when Kitchi Koo ran on in the closing stages to catch Jailbreaker and land the Whitnash Handicap Hurdle by half a length.
It was more than two years before his second success, which came at Ayr on April 22, 1995, when Exterior Profiles, making his debut under rules, beat 13 rival in the Gold Cup Hospitality Stakes Open N.H. Flat Race by three and a half lengths.
The five-year-old, trained by Nigel Twiston-Davies, then travelled to Warwick on May 13 and looked beaten before Kevin drove him up to overtake Diviner and win the Bonusprint Open N.H. Flat Race by a head.
