Isaac Boal

Isaac Boal won two races under National Hunt rules over three years apart. His first success was at Carlisle on December 13, 1923, when Lissen Hall won the Harraby Chase. Although Isaac kept the ride, they did not manage to win again.

Instead, he had to wait until January 6, 1927, for his second, and final, victory. This came on Moor Maiden who took the White Lodge Chase at Haydock Park by eight lengths. Of his four rivals that day only Lady Ardoon, the mount of Tom Morgan, finished the course.

Isaac was replaced by Ray Pulford for the six-year-old’s subsequent efforts, all unplaced. Indeed, he may well have had only one other ride that season. Although he held a licence until the 1927/28 season, there were no further wins.
