William (Willie) Alford, born in Nottingham c1904, was apprenticed to William Rose Jarvis and was a former Royal Jockey.

He won the 1928 Chester Cup on St Mary's Kirk and the 1924 Royal Hunt Cup on Dinkie.

Willie rode his last winner in 1930.

He died at 62, Shrewsbury Road, Sneinton Dale, Nottingham in March 1969.
