Peter Joseph Michael Brogan, born on August 13, 1951, started out riding as an amateur.
He is probably best remembered for his partnership with Avondhu. He also struck up a successful partnership with Stay Bell which won the Greenhall Whitley Hurdle and Billy Bow Hurdle.
Peter, who had a twin sister, rode his first winner, Tarik, at Kelso on December 16, 1969.
Peter had a major drink problem which caught up with him in October, 1997. He died in London.
