George Thomas Clout was born at La Croix, St Ouen, France on April 2, 1888. Although based in France, he made occasional forays to England for major meetings between 1911 and 1915.
He achieved his biggest success when winning the 1912 Cesarewitch on Bob Sievier’s 33/1 shot Warlingham.
He rode another 33/1 chance, Mistingette, in the following year’s Cesarewitch but finished unplaced.
