Edward Cazalet

Born on April 26, 1936, Edward Stephen Cazalet was the son of National Hunt trainer Peter Cazalet and became a top-class trainer (though one very much in his father's shadow.)

He lived at 33, Albert Hall Mansions, Kensington (then 31, Chelsea Square, London SW3) and rode his first winner, Diego Rubio, at Newton Abbot in August 1953.

The most winners he partnered in one season was 11 in 1959 - 60.

The biggest race he won was the Kim Muir at Cheltenham.

On April 24, 1965, he married Camilla Gage: she gave him two sons, David Benedict & Henry Pelham.
