Paul Bradwell

Paul Bradwell, born on April 16, 1960, in Chesterfield, was apprenticed to Clive Brittain's stable at Carlburg, Newmarket and, from 1984, was no longer able to claim an apprentice's allowance.

His career highlight was riding Standaan to victory in the 1979 Stewards' Cup at Goodwood.

In 1979 he had 17 winners, the most he rode in any one season.

His luck turned for the worse when Clive Brittain's leading patron, Captain Marcus Lemos, requested that Philip Robinson should ride his horses in preference to Bradwell.
