National Hunt jockey Gordon Cameron Cuddiford held a licence between the 1963/64 and 1969/70 seasons and rode for Jack Holt, who trained all of Gordon’s career total of five winners. The first of those was gained on Vital in the Ramsey Hurdle at Huntingdon on Whit Monday, May 18, 1964.
Gordon’s first ride in a steeplechase was a winner, on the grey Coup de Vent III in the West Sussex Handicap Chase at Fontwell on September 15, 1964. That was his sole success of the season.
He rode two winners the following season, namely Our Chris in a Towcester selling hurdle in October 1965 and novice hurdler Oregon at Bangor-on-Dee in April 1966.
Having failed to ride a winner during the next two seasons, Gordon struck for a final time on Silver Moss in a novice riders’ handicap hurdle at Cheltenham on April 10, 1969. He rode for one more season before relinquishing his licence.
