Colin Adams, from Dunragit, Wigtownshire in Scotland, was born on December 2, 1947, and was retained by his father, permit holder Thomas Adams.
He rode five winners in the 1968-69 season including Sapote at Hexham.
He also won on Bahadur, which he rated as the best he'd ridden.
Away from the saddle he enjoyed football and badminton.
