Robert Clarke

Robert John Clarke, aged 21 and from Cardiff, fell with Golsoncott in the Stanley Chase at Aintree at the second last fence (the 13th) and died from his injuries on Friday, March 18, 1932.

Medical evidence showed that when pulled from under the horse, Clarke had sustained fractured ribs and severe abdominal injuries.

It was stated that it was 36 years since a jockey was killed on the course.
