James Clark, from Liverpool, was born on May 23, 1889, and was apprenticed to H Powney & Capt Percy Bewicke.
Jim finished his time with Bewicke in June 1909.
He was runner-up to Steve Donoghue in the 1914 jockeys' table and finished fourth in 1912 with 86 winners.
He rode in Egypt and, after the war, took up training before returning to ride under rules in 1937.
Jim's sole classic win came on Clarissimus in the 1916 2,000 Guineas.
