Paul Bradley

Paul Bradley was born on June 21, 1979, and was attached to the stables of Jack Berry and it was for this trainer that he won a good handicap at Redcar on Amron on Monday, May 10, 1999.

He was not so lucky at Epsom in August 2001 when his mount, Tuscan Dream, reared up underneath him, and both his stall and those near to him opened after those towards the centre of the track.

Incredibly, the result was allowed to stand.

In March, 2004, Paul found himself entwined in the Hillside Girl affair.

He, alongside amateur rider Dale Jewett, was charged with 'conspiracy for the commission of a corrupt and fraudulent practice'.

Paul, the rider of Hillside Girl, pulled the horse up lame before halfway. This was after the stewards' interests had been alerted by Hillside Girl drifting alarmingly in the pre-race betting.

On the exchanges, it had opened up at odd-on before drifting out to 21-1, an indication of dramatic opposition.

Paul was later completely exonerated.
