Aged 30, Sylvester Joseph Bond Jnr. was thrown from Equinox after stumbling at the last hurdle at Cambridge on July 9, 1867. The horse then trampled over the fallen rider.
He was carried off the course 'in a dying state'.
Sylvester died from his injuries on July 19, 1867, leaving over £500.
From Luton, he was the son of a miller.
