After this win on Brilliancy at Newmarket on Thursday 12 May 1904, a scribe wrote 'I have frequently drawn attention to the riding ability of Harry Aylin, and I was pleased to see him on the winner, for too often he has been stood down foy Danny Maher. I am convinced that, given the chances, Aylin would develop into one of our leading horseman.'
The 1901 Northumberland Plate was run at the Newcastle & Gosforth Park Summer Meeting on Wednesday 26 June. Claiming five pounds, Harry scored easily on Reminiscence, winning by five lengths. It was his first win of significance, Reminiscence was a daughter of Carlton, winner of the 1887 Manchester Handicap.
August 1903
Another good win for Harry in 1902 came in Kempton's Queen's Prize. It was run over the new Jubilee course of a mile and a half. Harry's riding was justly applauded, one scribe writing 'Harry rode in a style that would have done credit to John Osborne in his Lord Clifden days.'

Saturday March 22 1902. Pellisson won the race for the second year running, just getting home by a head.
Harry returns to the paddock after winning the Bury Handicap Hurdle Race on Lord Derby's Outsider at the Newmarket Steeplechase Meeting, January 1905. Harry had his first ride over hurdles on 7 December 1904 when he partnered Ruy Lopez at Croydon (unplaced).
Gatwick January 1906. On a very wet afternoon, Harry returns to the paddock after winning the Reigate Hurdle Race on Adonis lll.
Newmarket Thursday April 14 1904. Harry wins the Craven Stakes on Airlie, a bay son of Ayrshire and Lady Ernie which did not run as a two-year-old. First and second fought it out over the last two furlongs with Airlie hanging on by a head. Harry was said to have ridden one of his best races ever.
Wednesday 27 July 1904, The favourite for the Sussex Stakes finished last as Harry on Mousqueton won by half a length from Burgundy.
