Thank you for sending the snacks to share and for making this moment special to all third graders! We wish you all a wonderful Winter Break filled with all your loved ones.
Please encourage your child to read every day for 30 minutes or more to help them with their reading fluency and vocabulary. Students will take with them a book from the library.

Readers will continue to follow the main character's journey in their stories by following the plot building a story mountain. They will also pay attention to how the secondary characters in the story play in the main character's journey. Readers will also begin to do this work with a book club!

Mathematicians will show different strategies to solve addition and subtractions problems. Students will investigate time and mass through hands- on experiences. They will also learn how to measure mass on a pan balance scale and then estimate, measure, and compare the masses of various objects.

Third graders will continue to dig deeper into the concepts of global trade by giving examples of what import and export do to the country's economy. Students make a claim supported with evidence about a factor that has influenced trade in the 21st century.

Students will be looking for products at home and identify which country produces them.

Friends and learners recognize the value of similarities and differences to foster an inclusive environment.
What friends and learners are doing at school...
Friends and learners will reflect on how each one brings diverse skills and experiences that contribute to a positive classroom.
Working in buddy pairs friends and learners will choose from each other’s Brainstorming Prep Activity Sheet the skill they would like to learn. One buddy first provides verbal instructions on his or her skill as the buddy writes them down on the Guidelines and Instructions Activity Sheet and then they swap.
