   We are so excited to have our first Writing Celebration this upcoming week. Our writers are more than ready to publish their stories and share them with the rest of our community! We’ll share some photos by the end of next week .

Our writers will spend these next few days preparing themselves for Independent Fiction Success! Some of the final work they’ll engage into will be: fixing run-on sentences, choosing punctuation for effect, creating leads that move quickly into the action, and returning to their Narrative Writing Checklist for self-assessment!

Spanish Literacy

Learning Goal

Reflexionar spbre lo aprendido en el taller de lectura. Establecerse metas para crecer como escritor.

What readers & writers are doing at school...

Los estudiantes concluirán el taller de lectura, poniendo en práctica estrategias para leer intensamente. También se prepararán para el taller de escritura, proponiéndose metas para crecer como escritor.

What readers & writers could be doing at home...

Los estudiantes leerán durante 20 minutos, poniendo en practica las estrategias aprendidas para leer intensamente.

Mathematics

Learning Goal

Students will use multiplicating strategies in solving story problems.

What mathematicians are doing at school...

Students will work in a set of story problems follow by a math forum in which the students have the opportunity to share and discuss all the different strategies they are applying to solve in each story problem.

Learning Goal

Discuss with students what makes their classroom a community and how everyone can be a part of a group.

What friends and learners are doing at school...

Friends and learners will create a name and motto, or special saying, for the class. Each group will be given a list of names and mottos as idea starters. Discuss and choose one name and motto, then choose a spokesperson who will explain your thinking. After we hear from each group, we will vote on a class name and motto.

What friends and learners could be practicing at home...

-Reflect on the following: Why is it important that everyone in the class be involved in making this decision? How might this affect the way we treat each other?
