Reading: Word Detectives are on the lookout for problems and how to solve them.
PHONICS: Take time to notice how silent E can be a clue when we become word solvers. Apply patterns and high - frequency words we've learned during word study to writing.
What readers & writers are doing at school...
Reading: Word Detectives are on the lookout for problems and how to solve them, this week they will pausing as they read to comprehend more, making sure to slow down to read unknown words, while making sure to scoop up words to make their reading smooth. In Bend II detectives will be on the lookout for the Silent E, making sure to be flexibe with the vowel sounds while reading.
PHONICS: Readers and writers will work together to be word solvers, looking closely to find a clue that can help them. Silent E can be a clue ! In addition, they will apply patterns and high - frequency words they've learned during word study to writing.
What readers & writers could be doing at home...
Reading: Word Detectives should be reading everyday using the skills learn in class, you can find them on this ANCHOR CHART. Have your detective read a book to you. Choose a skill to work on using this book. This is Liann. Password First1.
PHONICS: “Grandma Always Listens”.Use this book for you to find words with silent "E" and write them in your homework notebook (Reading Response).

Friends and learners use the emotion guessing game to demonstrate what basic emotions look, feel and sound like. Then the counselor describes the feeling thermometer to recognize when an emotion is strong or mild.
