They will continue learning how to choose a logical structure for their books and will be exposed to effective research writing skills. Students will review strategies for solving single- and double-digit multiplication combinations, with a particular focus on the use of the area model and partial products. Then, the teacher introduces the standard algorithm for multiplying 2- and 3-digit by 1-digit numbers.Students will consider when the standard algorithm is best used, and when other strategies might make more sense to use.
