Kindergarten News
Dear Kindergarten Families,
Thank you all who were able to attend our Parent Workshop of Growing Language Learners. It is essential we understand and be able to support our kids in their developmental stages as they grow. If you were not able to attend, here is the presentation. We are excited to let you know that kindergarteners will be having their first field trip on Friday Nov 3rd to Mombacho. Today we sent permission slips inside their green folders, please sign and return at latest on Wednesday Nov 1st to your homeroom teacher.
On another note, in reading workshop students learned that after reading a book with a partner, they can have a little book talk. They can talk about "wow" pages and add a pinch of their own thinking to any book they read. In phonics, students used picture cards to say, hear, and then locate the appropriate letter on an alphabet chart. Mathematicians have been learning different ways to show their understanding (10 frames, finger patterns, number racks, tally marks). This week they will be introduced to Unit 3 "Bikes and Doubles", please see the Unit Overview.
