5th Grade News

Dear 5th-grade families,

A lot is going on as we are about to end the school year! Our rising 6th-graders will have their orientation sessions on May 15th and 17th during school hours. Please make sure they bring money on May 15th as they will experience what buying their snack at the food court will be like next year. Also, remember Rising 6th-graders' Parent Orientation is this May 16 from 7:15-8:30, and our Spanish session on the same day from 1:15-2:30 in the OSSI Room. 5th-graders are in the process of electing their STUCO 6th-grade representative for next year.

Elections will be held on May 17th! Our last Student-Led Conferences are coming up this May 20th and May 22nd. Please sign up by clicking on your child's homeroom class link. Looking ahead, we want to share some information about the 5th-grade Promotion Ceremony. Students will wear the 6th-grade blue-and-white school uniform to symbolize the transition to middle school. The white polo shirts can be purchased in the ANS Tiger Store.

Save the Date for the Fifth-Grade Promotion Ceremony: Fifth-Grade Promotion Ceremony will be on Tuesday, May 28th in the CAA at 9:30 a.m. Your child should arrive at school at the normal dropoff time. Parents will enter Gate 8 in the CAA, no earlier than 9 a.m.

After the ceremony, the students can go home with their parents as this will be their last day of school. The fifth graders do not attend classes on May 29th.

Each family can have up to 6 family members attend the ceremony.

Siblings can participate in the continuation ceremony. Please email their teacher and the Primary Office to let them know beforehand; siblings are expected to stay in school for the rest of the day.

Dear Families,

I'm thrilled to share that our Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons for this academic year have come to a close. Reflecting on the journey we've embarked on together, I couldn't be prouder of the growth I've witnessed in your children. From mastering mindfulness techniques to navigating emotions with resilience, they've embraced every lesson with enthusiasm and openness. Witnessing their development in expressing empathy, managing conflicts constructively, and fostering positive relationships has been truly inspiring. Thank you for your continued support in reinforcing these essential skills at home. Here's to celebrating their progress and looking forward to further growth in the future. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or comments.

Warm regards,

Ms. Ximena Salaverri,
