Dear Parents,
It was great to see you this past Wednesday during our Math Parent School! We are glad many of you were able to attend. We would like for you to keep in mind that October 31st is a normal school day and uniforms are required. Last, but not least, please remember we have an 11am dismissal on Thursday, November 2nd.

Determine the challenge of complex nonfiction texts when it comes to analyzing the main idea. Learn strategies that readers use when they encounter texts that teach main ideas implicitly.

Readers will engage in inquiry to determine how complex nonfiction gets challenging when it comes to determining the main idea. They will also learn about specific strategies that readers use when they encounter texts that teach them main ideas implicitly.

Spanish Literacy
Learning Goal
Crear introducción y final especiales. Editar los textos informativos, utilizando todo lo que saben sobre buena escritura informativa, y el uso de signos convencionales para escribir textos de la mejor manera posible”.
What readers & writers are doing at school...
Los escritores escribirán diferentes introducciones a sus escritos. Enriquecerán el escrito con nueva información y detalles específicos. Determinarán las división de oraciones y pausas del texto colocar puntos, comas y signos auxiliares donde sea necesario.

What mathematicians are doing at school...
Students will complete problem strings and games to add and subtract decimals to the hundredths place. They will also explore patterns for multiplying and dividing by 10.

- Understand puberty, how bodies change over time, and what strategies to use to enhance emotional well-being.
- Identify major philosophical ideas of the Declaration of Indpendence

Students will be introduced to the wellness unit and the Declaration of Indpendence Unit.
What tigers could be doing at home...
As a family, practice various strategies for maintaining emotional wellbeing.
Dialogue with household members about what it means to be independent and what they've learned about the Declaration of Independence.
Social Emotional Learning Program
Learning Goal
Emotions, thoughts, and actions are connected. When we change one, the others are affected too. In this lesson we will practice working with and discussing how emotions, thoughts, and actions work together so that we make useful choices.

Recognize that my emotions, thoughts, and actions are connected and happen in response to situations in my life.
Change the way I respond—think, feel, and act—to the same situation.
Understand why someone else may have a different response to a situation than I do.
What friends and learners could be practicing at home...
Create a “reminder to be mindful”—write a little phrase or question that you can tell yourself when you find that you haven’t checked in with your emotions lately. For example, you might use the question, “What’s going on up there, brain?”
