3rd Grade News
Dear Third Grade Parents,
Our Third Graders are currently writing their informational books and they are eager to gather facts and information about their chosen animals. They read and reviewed the success criteria for the Informational books. They will use the Success Criteria checklist to help them organize their facts and information in their book.
In Math, they embarked on the concept of multiplication and they are exploring a range of strategies to help them build their conceptual understanding. They have been using these mathematical terms to articulate their mathematical thinking when solving a multiplication problem: groups of, doubling, repeated addition, skip counting, and a number line. Please ask your child to draw 2 different arrays for this equation: 4 x 6 = n
