What mathematicians are doing at school...
Mathematicians will create equivalent fractions by doubling numerator and denominator. They will learn how to use the double number line to add and subtract fractions with unlike denominator. They will also continue using clock models and money to find equivalencies.
What mathematicians could be doing at home...
Mathematicians will be practicing at home by completing: Home Connections pgs. 25-28 Student Book pgs. 42 and 45
Science or Social Studies
Learning Goal
Brainstorm, plan, explain and start setting up group legume experiment.
What tigers are doing at school..
Scientists are conducting an experiment to see how plants grow in different types of habitats. They are using this phenomena and concept to learn how to plan and conduct an experiment including how to collect data.
What tigers could be doing at home...
Dialogue with household members about their predictions on the outcome of their legume experiment; try a similar experiment at home using different substrates from those in the classroom.

Learning Goal
We will explore what it means to be our best selves. We are our best selves when we understand our emotions, what causes them, and how they influence how we act or behave
What friends and learners are doing at school..
Friends and learners will create a name and motto, or special saying, for the class. Each group will be given a list of names and mottos as idea starters. Discuss and choose one name and motto, then choose a spokesperson who will explain your thinking. After we hear from each group, we will vote on a class name and motto.
What friends and learners could be practicing at home...
Reflect on the following:
Why is it important that everyone in the class be involved in making this decision? How might this affect the way we treat each other?
