Dear Third Grade Parents,

We would like to thank you for coming to the Literacy Celebration. It meant a lot to your child and the school. Your participation encouraged your child to share more and we appreciated it very much. As this is a short week, we wish everyone to have a fun-filled holiday and thanksgiving.

Readers will learn to notice patterns in a character's actions and feelings, and they will use those patterns to develop a theory about the character. They will get to understand the characters in deeper ways in order to predict the story.

Proponer soluciones ante problemas en la comunidad.

What mathematicians are doing at school...

Mathematicians will be working in calculating distances that involves reounding to the nearest ten an hundred. They are going to be working on calculation that involes 3 and 4- digit number by using their subtraction strategies.

What tigers are doing at school...

We are now going deeper into our global trade unit and students are looking at the different products that come from different countries that make the connections between countries. We will continue to explore on the three questions from last week.

What tigers could be doing at home...

Ask questions for example...Why do countries need each other? Why do countries import goods? 

Social Emotional Learning Program

Learning Goal

We will learn to change unhelpful Worm thoughts to helpful Caterpillar thoughts when we make mistakes or face a challenge.

What friends and learners are doing at school...

We’re going to play a game to practice using a growth mindset. We will identify Caterpillar thoughts—beliefs that we can change, and Worm thoughts—beliefs that things will stay the same. We will determine how these two types of thoughts lead to different feelings and actions.

What friends and learners could be practicing at home...

Identify an activity or skill that you can’t do well just yet. What have you learned from any mistakes or challenges you have had so far? How can you improve? Share your plan.
