Dear Third Grade Parents,
We would like to thank you for coming to the Literacy Celebration. It meant a lot to your child and the school. Your participation encouraged your child to share more and we appreciated it very much. As this is a short week, we wish everyone to have a fun-filled holiday and thanksgiving.

Mathematicians will be working in calculating distances that involves reounding to the nearest ten an hundred. They are going to be working on calculation that involes 3 and 4- digit number by using their subtraction strategies.

We are now going deeper into our global trade unit and students are looking at the different products that come from different countries that make the connections between countries. We will continue to explore on the three questions from last week.

We will learn to change unhelpful Worm thoughts to helpful Caterpillar thoughts when we make mistakes or face a challenge.

We’re going to play a game to practice using a growth mindset. We will identify Caterpillar thoughts—beliefs that we can change, and Worm thoughts—beliefs that things will stay the same. We will determine how these two types of thoughts lead to different feelings and actions.
