5th Grade News
Dear 5th-grade families,
5th-graders are in the process of electing their STUCO 6th-grade representative for next year. Feel free to review the poster and encourage your child to show their leadership skills! Elections will be held on May 17th. Remember we have early dismissal (11am) on Wednesday, May 8th!
Rising 6th-graders' Parent Orientation is coming up soon! We'll have our English session on May 16 from 7:15-8:30 and our Spanish session on the same day from 1:15-2:30 in the OSSI Room. Looking ahead, we want to share some information about 5th-grade Promotion Ceremony. Students will wear the 6th-grade blue-and-white school uniform to symbolize the transition to middle school. The white polo shirts can be purchased in the ANS Tiger Store.
Save the Date for the FIfth-Grade Promotion Ceremony: Fifth-Grade Promotion Ceremony will be on Tuesday, May 28th in the CAA at 9:30 a.m. Your child should arrive at school at the normal dropoff time. Parents will enter Gate 8 in the CAA, no earlier than 9 a.m.
After the ceremony, the students can go home with their parents as this will be their last day of school. The fifth graders do not attend classes on May 29th.
Each family can have up to 6 family members attend the ceremony.
Siblings can participate in the continuation ceremony. Please email their teacher and the Primary Office to let them know beforehand; siblings are expected to stay in school for the rest of the day.

Los lectores de Club de Lectura van a considerar la perspectiva del problema y sus efectos y pensar analíticamente para comparar y generar nuevas ideas.
What readers & writers are doing at school...
Los lectores empezarán a leer queriendo saber quién es el narrador. En cuanto se dan cuenta de quién es el personaje que narra la historia o desde qué perspectiva se está narrando, aprenderán que a través de toda la lectura, todas las partes se están contando desde la perspectiva de ese personaje en particular y que, tal vez, otros personajes podrían imaginarla de otra manera o tener otros sentimientos distintos. Durante los tiempos de lectura, pensarán analíticamente.
Dividirán en partes, luego selecciona, establece un orden y comparán las actuaciones o pensamientos de los personajes.
