Kindergarten News

Dear Kindergarten Families,

This week students were excited to have finished their "Super Readers" unit, we celebrated among their peers and were able to activate all of their super reading powers. Next week in English Literacy we will be starting a new writing unit called "How-To-Books". In Spanish Literacy, students started a new Reading Unit called "Boosting Reading".

In Math, students have been learning about shapes and their attributes and celebrated 100 days of school! They were able to count up to 100 by ones.

Please remember that next week we will be having our expedition celebration. Please send the corresponding materials to make the fruit salad and the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches by Monday March 11th.

Friends and learners develop confidence in their communication skills when they practice speaking up for themselves and others. Speaking up can be difficult, and this can prevent students from having their ideas and needs heard and addressed. Stop reading when a character in a book has the option of speaking up and speaking kindly. Discuss what the character could do before you continue reading. Help students consider how the outcome might have changed if the character’s actions had been different.
