3rd Grade News
Dear parents,
Third graders have been engaged in their essay writing assignments. They have been building strong claims about characters in their books. We are soon preparing for our debates!
In Math, we recently began Unit 5. In this Unit, students will practice multiplication and division and they will be finding area and perimeter.
Please remember to read with your child every day for 30 minutes.

Writers will use flash debate protocols to rehearse and strengthen arguments about characters in different stories. Students will be using their book club books for the debate. They can also use any other short text that they've studied. They will be doing a lot of this work with collaboration from their book club.

Think about their environment, the people they are with and the place they are in, when they communicate.
