Weekly Learning Goals & Tasks

Learning Goal

Researching History

What readers & writers are doing at school...

Our students will embark on their final literacy workshop by learning how to read like historians. For these next couple of weeks, they will be reading about the events leading up to the American Revolution. They will begin by building their knowledge about the era by reading accessible texts and paying close attention to text structures in order to organize their notes and their thinking. Later on, they will learn how to synthesize the new information into what they already know, paying special attention - as historians do - to the people, geography, and chronology of events.
