Dear Families,
We believe it’s essential to give our students the opportunity to take on responsibility and make their own decisions. Just as important is allowing them to experience the natural consequences of their choices, which provides valuable lessons in resilience. Along the way, we aim to show empathy for the challenges they face, understanding the frustration and disappointment that may come with learning from mistakes.
By encouraging students to problem-solve and equipping them with the skills they need to navigate the real world, we are laying the foundation for their future success. The 4th Grade Team kindly asks for your support in reinforcing this exciting unit at home. We encourage families to read with their children and explore additional resources related to the topics we are studying. PADLET
Throughout this unit, students will engage with complex vocabulary and rich contexts that will strengthen and enhance their oral language skills. With your continued support, they will build confidence, develop greater independence, and read with increased fluency and understanding.
Wishing you all a wonderful and restful weekend!

Through thoughtful discussions and research, they will compare life “then and now,” using graphic organizers to deepen and organize their understanding. Students will also generate meaningful questions to guide their inquiry and explore the impact of technology during the industrial age.
We look forward to seeing them think critically about how change shapes communities — past and present.
