4th Grade News

Dear families,

Welcome to 4th grade! We are so excited about this new school year that is just starting! We are eager to get to know each one of our students and support them in this wonderful journey. We will support your children so they can grow as leaders of their own learning.

During our first time together, we will be reinforcing our Tiger Trait “ Curiosity “. This greatly helps our students to keep an active mind, to grow new ideas, become inquirers, and promote endless learning.

This new school year we start with Writing! This is a great opportunity for students to learn how to become active writers; creating their very own text. They will acquire writing skills, build writing fluency, and develop pride in their finished work. This next week we will set up routines (setting expectations and goals) that will build success for the rest of the school year.

What mathematicians are doing at school...

We will begin Unit 1 of our new program Bridges Module 1- Models for Multiplication and Division. This week we will work on setting the course for the new school year, number lines and pre-assessing the students. Get ready to use all the multiplication and division skills learned in 3rd grade! We encourage you to take some time to review the strategies that will be taught during this first Unit.
