At home you may talk about your own culture, beliefs, traditions, celebrations, foods, costume, and talk about similarities and differences of culture within the different regions in the country. This will help our learners enrich their concepts of culture and diversity. Our similarities and differences will help understand who we are.

Social Emotional Learning Program

Learning Goal

We will learn that our emotions (feelings), thoughts, and actions affect what we do when we interact with others and that we can identify strategies to help cool off when our emotions are strong so we are able to direct our actions in useful ways period.

What friends and learners are doing at school...

Friends and learners will play a game of four corners. They will hear a scenario and then choose from a series of emotions, thoughts, and actions. Students will have to decide which corner or area to go to based on how they think they would respond. After each scenario, have students discuss their responses with their peers and share out. Create some personal goals for being our best selves. Remember that goals are things we want to be able to do or know.
