Dear Parents,
The third graders enjoyed playing games and sharing snacks with the fifth graders during the Halloween Community Celebration. This was a great experience for the students and they had so much fun!
Our writers began crafting a new essay by hooking the readers with an intriguing question. In the introduction, they explained the significance of the claim. The students concentrated on a strong conclusion, showing the lesson the character learned in the story. They restated the claim in their powerful conclusion.
Our mathematicians have been practicing skip counting, repeated addition, and using number lines to solve multiplication problems. They worked on problem strings by creating arrays, focusing on the rows and columns to formulate multiplication equations to solve different problems.
We are happy to Celebrate your child's growth in our upcoming SLC on Tuesday Nov. 12th (Big Questions Day) and Nov 13th (no school for students). Use the Following Links for sign up: 3A, 3B and 3C.
Learning Goal
Our writers will learn how to use debate as a method to rehearse and prepare for drafting. They will discover that writers can take different sides during a debate and will practice defending their positions. Students will brainstorm debatable questions about the characters in the texts we are studying.
Learning Goal
Learning Goal
Rounding whole numbers to the nearest ten, reason abstractly and quantitatively.
Using measuring tape, base ten pieces and number lines students engage in a study of rounding 2 and 3 digit numbers. They will reinforce this strategy witha series of number strings.
Learning Goal
Young scientists will dig deeper on the impact of environmental changes on animal adaptations. This inquiry focuses on how changes like climate shifts, habitat destruction, or human activity affect animals’ ability to adapt and survive.
Talk about how we could protect the animals around us.
Learning Goal
We use helpful self-talk to develop an optimistic mindset. In this lesson, we will practice swapping unhelpful thoughts and self-talk for more helpful self-talk, leading to an optimistic mindset.
Tell how my mindset is connected to my thoughts and emotions.
Use self-talk in a helpful way.
Change my thoughts to be more optimistic and helpful.
Tell about a time you thought unhelpfully and changed it to helpful, optimistic self-talk. What happened? How did that influence your emotions?
