Dear Kindergarten Families,
December is here, and we are excited to finish the year strong! Kids had a fantastic SPIRIT Week! They absolutely loved coming dressed up and showing their school spirit.
A lot of learning is taking place in our classroom. In Writing Workshop, kindergartners continued to work on writing true stories, focusing on making their writing easy to read. It has been wonderful to see their progress! In Math, students practiced writing equations for story problems, developing both their problem solving and equation writing skills.
Additionally, the Friday Feedback Folder is being sent home today. Please review it with your child and return it by Tuesday.
Thank you for your support and partnership!

This week, we are learning more about numbers! We’ll focus on counting, comparing amounts, and adding small numbers.
Practice counting forward and backward.
Compare groups to see which has more or less.
Add small numbers while playing games and using fun math tools.
Counting from any number up to 20.
Comparing two small groups of toys or snacks—ask which has more.
Adding small numbers using fingers or objects around the house.
Learning Goal
Students will explore the concepts of force, motion, and energy through hands-on, holiday-themed activities, enhancing their understanding of physics while fostering creativity and fun.
Students will engage in a series of fun, holiday-themed activities to explore the concepts of push and pull. They'll race toy cars down ramps decorated for Christmas, experiment with pushing and pulling objects in the classroom while connecting it to their dance movements, and build festive structures using magnets. On the playground, they'll explore swings, slides, and seesaws, pretending to help Santa prepare for Christmas Eve. These activities combine science and holiday fun, helping students understand force and motion through hands-on play.
Holiday Push and Pull Experiment:
At home, students can choose two objects, like a toy car and a box, and experiment with pushing and pulling them on different surfaces. They can decorate the objects with holiday themes and describe how the force changes their movement.
