Hello 5th Grade Families!
We have had a wonderful and busy week. It has been awesome to get to know your children. Coming up next week we have Big Questions Day on Thursday, and we will also begin TTT (Teacher Table Time) as we provide differentiated support to best meet the needs of all learners. Fifth graders must be reading for at least 45 minutes each day. We would like your support at home making sure they are reading and completing their reading log each day. Learning Goal
Readers will become more aware that readers who write well about reading are extra alert, seeing more in their books.
*Study the writing they have done so far.
*Read on their books and go on a journey of thought, carrying ideas they have and adding to them.
*Consider the perspective a story is being told from.
*Considering how a subject or text is structured, and dividing sections into parts, then selecting, ranking and comparing.
Readers are encouraged to read daily for at least 45 minutes, and use their reading log to keep track of their reading volume and stamina.

* Analizar lecturas de narrativas personales y lecturas seleccionadas.
* Adquirir y usar nuevo vocabulario por contexto y con el uso de diccionario.
* Ortografía acentual, signos de puntuación.
* Revisión de la Narrativa Personal siguiendo el Proceso de Escritura.
* Los estudiantes leerán diferentes lecturas seleccionadas.
* Responderán a preguntas de análisis de nivel literal, inferencial y crítico.
* Aprenderán palabras de vocabulario partiendo de las lecturas.
* Usarán el nuevo vocabulario en oraciones y en sus producciones escritas.
* Reglas ortográficas en palabras agudas, graves y esdrújulas.
* Uso de la coma.
* Revisarán la Narrativa Personal siguiendo el Proceso de Escritura aplicando los conocimientos ortográficos, gramaticales y signos de puntuación.

Experiment with and explore the phenomena of states of matter
Scientist have been collecting information based on their experiments throughout this week. Next week they will bring all of the data they have collected in the classroom and will reflect with Mr. Jason during B?Day about the patterns, observations and questions they have to help them explore the phenomena further.
Scientist will brainstorm ideas to create their own experiments. Students need to generate a list of things they have at home that they could use in order to create and plan their own experiments.

Friends and learners will be learning the Peace place steps to solve conflicts.
Friends and learners will practice peace place steps to solve conflicts and relaxation strategies from the Relaxation station to lower the level of their emotions to activate their thinking brain.
Follow the Peace Place steps with your parents at home if any problem happens
