Dear 4th Grade Families,

Another week full of learning has ended and we're almost close to the end of this Semester! It has been very meaningful to see our tigers performing on their BAS and MAP Tests. We highly encourage our Tigers to keep reading as experts readers and don't give up! Please see our next week's learning focus.

Our Readers will apply information learned through nonfiction reading to teach others and to generate real-world solutions to real-life problems. As readers themselves, they now have a wealth of techniques for achieving reading goals. We will end our unit by teaching others about our own ideas, our own “ I wonder…” questions and our findings!

Para comprender al autor harán preguntas como: ¿Por qué el autor podría haber incluido esto?

Los lectores aprenderán a desarrollar ideas más grandes en la lectura con sus compañeros, haciéndose preguntas como: ¿De dónde sacaste esa idea?, esto hará una lectura más profunda y ayudará a comprender mejor al autor.

Los estudiantes deberán leer durante 25 minutos y con ayuda de personas que conozcan podrán descubrir las lecciones de la vida que enseña un libro , luego preguntarse: "¿Qué está aprendiendo mi personaje?"

Math - Unit 3 (Fractions & Decimals)

Students will start a new unit in which they will study additional subtractions and measurement concepts. Module 1 will focus on place value to 1000,000 and multi digit addition strategy. They will build understanding by modeling how to place value and apply that concept when solving addition and subtraction problems.Students will investigate and use the standard addition and subtraction algorithm too.
