Dear 5th grade parents,
We would like to take a moment to recognize and celebrate your involvement in our recent Student-Led Conference. It was wonderful to see each student take pride in reflecting on their progress, sharing their achievements, and setting meaningful goals with you by their side. Learning Goal
In this lesson, we will think about how challenges and mistakes can help us become our best selves and interact more effectively with others.
Distinguish the effects growth and fixed mindsets have on my thoughts, feelings, and actions.
Change my thoughts and, with support from the environment, I can feel, think, and act in more helpful ways.
Use challenges and mistakes as opportunities to learn and grow.
Think about a situation when you had a fixed mindset. Maybe you thought something about yourself would always be that way or that a situation couldn’t get better. How could you have turned your fixed mindset into a growth mindset? How do you think it would have changed the situation?
