Dear Kindergarten Families,
We had another amazing week in Kindergarten! In Writing Workshop, students learned how to use "turn-the-page" words such as then, after, later, finally, at the end to connect events in their stories. They also explored story-starting phrases like One sunny day or One rainy afternoon to captivate their readers attention.
In Phonics, students embraced their roles as word scientists, practicing how to recognize snap words in many different ways and fonts.
In Spanish, they celebrated the end of their writing unit by sharing their show and tell books with their classmates. It was a joyful moment to see their creativity and confidence shine!
On Wednesday, November 27, we will be celebrating the month of giving by sharing a special snack together as a class. To make this celebration meaningful, we would love your support!
Please sign up to contribute a snack item using the provided sign-up sheet

Mathematicians will use ten frames, unifix cubes, and various games like Butterfly Countdown to work with numbers. They will practice adding and subtracting 1, identifying doubles, and exploring how to break apart and combine numbers in different ways.
Students can use everyday items (like toys, spoons, or coins) to practice adding and subtracting 1.
Arrange small objects into groups to explore doubles (e.g., two apples, two pairs of shoes).
Count how many items are in a group and then split them into two parts to see the different ways they can be grouped.
Learning Goal
Students will explore global holidays and traditions, developing an understanding and appreciation for cultural diversity while fostering inclusivity and respect through interactive activities.
Students will explore and appreciate global traditions through storytelling, mapping holidays, and creating celebration cards. They will share their own cultural traditions and learn about others, fostering creativity and respect for diverse customs and family celebrations.
Students can create a "Tradition Box" at home by decorating a box with symbols of a holiday or cultural tradition they celebrate. They will fill the box with meaningful items, write a short description of the tradition, and share it with the class, fostering creativity and cultural appreciation.
Learning Goal
Tigers will learn that things can change
In this lesson, tigers will describe and draw how they have changed and hope to change, learning that just because they cannot do something yet, does not mean they will never do it.
Think with your family of things you could not do before and now you are a good!
