They will also turn into brave dragons and ask experts for help whenever they need it.In Phonics, 2nd graders have been learning about Spelling Rules when adding -ed, -ing and -er endings to words. If the word has 1 syllable, a short vowel and ends in a consonant, they need to double the last consonant before adding the endings. For example: stop, stopped, stopping, stopper. They have also discovered the different ways to spell action words in the past tense such as throw --> threw, drink --> drank.
