Dear Parents,
What a wonderful week of learning and growth. Our readers, writers and mathematicians are growing so much. We have culminated our Social Studies CULTURE Unit by creating masks. We would love to celebrate with a snack, with the idea of Culture, please have your child bring a small snack to represent any culture they wish. Celebration would take place Wednesday Oct 23rd during snack time (10am). On another note, if you would like to help decorate the classroom for Fall, feel free to send anything to decorate.
Learning Goal
Our writers will continue reading different texts to compare characters. They will learn that writers use mentor texts to prepare for drafting and starting a new essay. The students will create their charts to write about the characters' traits, changes, the lessons learned, and the relationships between the characters.
Learning Goal
Learning Goal
Building new ways to see multiplication, such as ratio tables and arrays.
Students will work with Pet Story Problems, to work on doubling, they will transfer this startegy with partners into a ratio table, a model and tool that allows them to explore proportional thinking.

Learning Goal
Third graders will be launching a new unit in Science that focuses on Animal adaptations. The unit's provocation is to observe the animals that we have on campus e.g. ants, birds, butterflies, pigeons, lizards, and etc. This unit will allow our third graders the opportunity to explore the different animals' adaptations (one of their their favorite topics is animals) in Nicaragua and around the world. Later in the unit, students will study specific animals and their unique adaptations. They will be given the opportunity to present their findings and research. As part of the provocation stage is...students will be generating essential questions on the concept of animal adaptation. Third graders will engage in research to gather information about animal adaptations.
Third graders should be talking about the different animals' adaptations and provide reasons why these adaptations are important for their survival. Parents could support their child through the lens of reading non-fiction books (animals). If you have the chance to go to the beach, forest, farms, and caves please talk the about animals that live in those habitats.
Learning Goal
We are conducting a student survey to better understand our students' perspectives. This survey will help us learn how your child feels and how we can improve our support for them. The honest answers provided will guide us in enhancing the school environment for everyone, reflecting the overall social and learning climate at our school.
Thank you for encouraging your child to share their thoughts. Their voice is important in shaping a better experience for all.
