Kindergarten News
Dear Kindergarten Families,
Thank you all who were able to attend our 1st Parent Workshop. Parent involvement is essential for your child's preparedness and independence process. This week in writing students started writing books about something they know a lot about and have been building their writing stamina. They know that "once you are done, you have just begun!". In Spanish, they started Reader's Workshop. They learned how to do private reading, reading with a partner and reading books cover to cover. In math, students began exploring with 5 and 10 frames, they started subitizing and learning new math vocabulary "How many cubes?, How many empty boxes? How many in all?". In phonics, they have been engaged in learning their friends' names and have learned that writers can say any word and hear the beats in it - the syllables.
