Kindergarten News

Dear Kindergarten Families,

It's been a great week of learning! In expeditions students have been learning about the elements of literature including: characters, setting, and plot. They have been exploring how stories and poems can serve as mirrors, windows and sliding doors in helping us make connections, explore differences, and seek understanding. Students have been working hard on their theater skills including: gesture, voice, facial expression and props to enhance their oral storytelling. This week they dramatized their favorite story they chose to their classmates and did an amazing job performing. To continue building on their skills we are excited to tell you that we will be having a field trip on Thursday Feb 8th to Teatro El Gato. Today we are sending their Friday Feedback folder inside you will find the permission slips, please sign and return to your homeroom teacher at latest on Wednesday Feb 7th.

In our science unit, students are learning about force, push and pull and in the following weeks they will be working in groups to create their own boat. For this we will be needing recycled materials for them to create them, if you could please send any would be greatly appreciated.
